'Mother' arrested over Chadwell Heath death of girl, 8

A 34-year-old woman has been arrested after an eight-year-old girl was found dead by ambulance workers in Chadwell Heath, east London.

A spokesman said London Ambulance Service was called to reports of an injured child at Bedwell Court, Broomfield Road, at 11:38 BST.

The woman, believed to be the child's mother, was treated at Queen's Hospital in Romford for minor injuries.

The Met said the woman was now in custody at Ilford police station.

The force said it was not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation and has not appealed for witnesses.
