Mother and toddler hit by car on London zebra crossing

A mother and her 18-month-old child were seriously injured when a car crashed into them on a zebra crossing in north London.

The car collided with the pair on East End Road, Finchley, at about 18:20 BST on Friday, police said.

The woman, in her 20s, is in a critical condition, while the girl, who was in a pushchair, is in a serious condition.

The driver of the car, a man in his 70s, stopped at the scene after the crash. Police said he was not arrested.
