A man who was injured in a drive-by shooting on London's Waterloo Bridge has been discharged from hospital.

The 22-year-old was taken to hospital with head injuries after a gunman on the back of a motorbike opened fire on a Ford Focus travelling on the bridge, at about 20:00 GMT on Friday.

Three men, believed to be 22, 23 and 24, have been arrested on suspicion of firearm offences.

A Met Police spokesman said: "The surrounding area, including the Southbank, would have been busy with people enjoying their Friday night and detectives are eager to speak with anyone who witnessed the shooting, or who saw the motorcycle fleeing the area."

The three men are being held at different police stations in the city.

The bridge's southbound carriageway was closed until about 02:00.
