Television presenter Ant McPartlin and his mother were assaulted by a group of youths in west London, the BBC understands.

The Saturday Night Takeaway presenter was dining at the Old Station House in Chiswick when a gang made rude gestures and filmed him through a window.

McPartlin, 38, asked them to leave but the group assaulted him. His mother Christine was pushed to the ground.

The Met said: "No allegations were made and no-one suffered any injuries."

The force added it had been called to the incident on Spencer Road at about 20:00 GMT on 13 March.
