Homes have been evacuated after an explosion which destroyed the roof of a house in Brixton, south London.

London Fire Brigade said the first floor windows were smashed at the house in Abbots Park, including one which blew out.

The brigade was called to reports of a fire at about 11:05 BST. It said there were no reports of injuries.

Station manager Bruce Grain said neighbouring houses were evacuated as a precaution.
