Martin Thomas death: Teen remanded over break-in murder

A 13-year-old boy has been remanded in custody charged with murder.

The teenager appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court accused of the murder of Martin Thomas, 39, on 22 April.

He died during a break-in and was pronounced dead at his home in Huntingfield Road, Roehampton, south-west London.

The case was sent to the Old Bailey where a bail hearing was set for 7 May and a preliminary hearing on 19 May.

The teenager, who cannot be named because of his age, was asked to confirm his name, date of birth and address.

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of Mr Thomas's death as haemorrhaging due to a stab wound to the lung.

A 15-year-old boy has already appeared in court charged with murder and has been remanded in custody.
