A man has been arrested after a liquid, thought to be ammonia, was sprayed on three men in south London.

Two men were assaulted near The Lightbox club in Vauxhall in the early hours of 8 May, following an argument with a group, police said.

The third victim was also sprayed in the face a short time later.

A 31-year-old man was arrested in Kent on Wednesday on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm. He is in custody at a south London police station.

Following the attack one of the victims told the Evening Standard that doctors said the liquid had "burnt the cornea" in his left eye.

"My face was burning so much, I thought it was acid. I thought I would never see again and my face was melting," the victim said.
