Woman fatally stabbed in Walthamstow named by police

A 26-year-old woman who died days after being stabbed at a house in east London has been named by police.

Leighann Duffy was found at a residential property in Hatherley Road, Walthamstow, on 1 September with stab wounds to her arm and neck. She died on 3 September at an east London hospital.

A six-year-old child also suffered minor injures in the attack, but did not require hospital treatment.

No-one has been arrested in connection with the stabbing.

Det Ch Insp Glen Lloyd said: "While we continue to investigate the motive to this incident we believe that the suspect and the victim were known to each other."

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of Ms Duffy's death as a stab wound.

Police have urged anyone with information to contact officers.
