Man charged over Welling police shooting
A man has been charged over the shooting of a police officer in south-east London.
Michael Olsen, 51, is accused of causing grievous bodily harm, threats to kill, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of ammunition and dangerous driving.
Mr Olsen, from Dartford, will appear at Bexley Magistrates' Court on Monday.
He was arrested after a policeman was shot in the hand while approaching a suspect in Welling on Friday night.
Police had been called out to reports of a car hitting a number of other vehicles and then a lamppost on Westwood Lane, near the junction with Wendover Way.
One of the responding officers, a police constable, suffered a gunshot wound to the hand.
The wounded PC and a colleague were taken to hospital before being discharged.
