Man attacked during home burglary in Sutton
A man was pistol whipped and knifed in the hand before being bound up alongside his wife during an aggravated burglary at their home in Sutton.
Two men made off with cash as well as car and house keys.
The male victim, 42, and his 32-year-old wife managed to break free and call police before being treated for minor injuries at a south London hospital.
The incident happened at 01:30 BST on Saturday at their home in Stanley Park Road, Carshalton.
The Met said the two men entered the semi detached house by forcing the front door open. One had a handgun while the other had a knife.
Both suspects were described as black aged 28 to 33. One was 5ft 9ins tall, solid build with a London accent. He was wearing a black bomber jacket with its hood up and a balaclava.
The second was 6ft tall, with a London accent. He was wearing a black hoodie and a black balaclava.
Det Sgt Julian Phillips said: "This was a terrifying burglary committed by two men who used a high level violence against the victims.
"I would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area or has information on what happened to come forward as soon as possible."
