The identities of a man and woman found dead in adjacent streets in north-east London have been revealed by police.

Magdalena Anna Welna, 23, a Polish national, suffered multiple stab wounds in an attack in Ilford that is being treated as murder.

Victor Banjo Ogundunmade, 27, from east London, was found collapsed 90 minutes later in the next street. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Scotland Yard.

Police were initially called to Valentines Road in Ilford at about 17:30 GMT on 31 October, to reports of a woman stabbed in the street.

At 19:02 GMT officers returned to find a man collapsed on Auckland Road. He was taken to hospital where he later died.

The Met said both deaths were being investigated by its homicide team and while the pair knew each other, they were not related.
