Man arrested over teen stabbed to death outside Borough shop

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after an 18-year-old was stabbed to death outside a convenience store in south-east London.

David Maxwell was attacked outside Quality Food Store on Pilgrimage Street, Borough, on Friday at 14:30 GMT. He died 45 minutes later.

A post-mortem test gave the cause of death as stab wounds.

A 20-year-old arrested was arrested on Monday and is being held at a south London police station.

An 18-year-old arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice has been released until mid-January pending further enquiries.

Officers say they are keeping an open mind regarding a motive.

The suspect has been described by police as a dark-skinned black man, short, with short dreadlocked hair, who was wearing a white short-sleeved top, dark trousers and dark footwear.
