Cyclist killed by 'racing motorist' in east London hit-and-run

A cyclist has died from his injuries after he was hit by a car that may have been racing another vehicle and failed to stop.

The 32-year-old man was struck at the junction of Commercial Road and Cavell Street in east London shortly after 22:00 GMT on Monday.

A police spokesman said the driver "is believed to have been racing with another car" and did not stop.

A car that was suspected of being involved has been found, police said.

The cyclist has not been named but his next-of-kin have been informed.

The Metropolitan Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.
