Bus driver arrested over fatal Streatham crash

A bus driver has been arrested after a woman who was hit by a vehicle died in south-west London.

Emergency crews were called to the injured 60-year-old at 18:00 GMT on Friday at the Ambleside Avenue junction with Mitcham Lane in Streatham.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, Scotland Yard said.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and has been bailed while enquiries continue.
