Police arrest Woolwich hospital absconder Paul Williams

A man who absconded from a psychiatric hospital in south-east London has been arrested by police and is in custody.

Paul Williams, 48, fled Oxleas House Psychiatric Hospital on Stadium Road, Woolwich on 28 November after allegedly assaulting two members of staff.

It is alleged he then assaulted a driver, before stealing a car and carrying out an aggravated burglary.

Police said he was arrested in Clapham on suspicion of aggravated burglary and robbery.
