Murder arrest over Waterloo bus stop death

A man has died after being found with head injuries at a bus stop outside Waterloo station.

Police were called to reports of an attack at the south London train station at 02:45 GMT.

The victim, in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said they were in the process of informing his next of kin.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and is being held at a south London police station.

Road closures and police cordons are in place around the scene.

Det Ch Insp Diane Tudway, from the Met's Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: "This is a very busy part of London frequented by both commuters and those on a night out.

"My team is keen to hear from anyone who was in the area or passing by at the time of this incident and may have witnessed what occurred or seen something that could assist the investigation."
