Tonnes of rubbish ablaze at Orpington waste plant
Firefighters remain on the scene of a waste plant in south-east London where 900 tonnes of rubbish caught fire.
London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called to the Waste4Fuel plant in Crittalls Corner, Orpington, at 20:00 GMT on Thursday.
Firefighters will continue to damp down the site but LFB have said the flames had been extinguished.
About 5% of the 18,000 tonnes of rubbish has been burning and machinery at the plant was also on fire.
Four fire engines and 20 firefighters were at the scene earlier.
At 20:50 GMT, LFB said a crew was still there monitoring smoke coming from small pockets.
