A man has been charged with the murder of a 15-year-old cyclist in north London.

Alan Cartwright was stabbed to death on 28 February in Islington.

He was cycling on Caledonian Road with two friends when they were attacked.

Joshua Williams, 18, of Davenant Road, Islington, is due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates' court on Saturday charged with murder and conspiracy to rob.

Alan was pronounced dead at the scene of the attack and a post-mortem examination found he died from a single stab wound to the chest.

An 18-year-old man arrested in connection with the death remains in custody, police said.

A 17-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man, who were both arrested in relation to the incident, have been bailed.
