Pedestrian killed in cement lorry crash in south London

A man in his late 50s died when he was struck by a cement lorry in south London.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene on Baker Road in Woolwich at about 16:00 GMT on Friday.

The driver of the lorry stopped after the crash. No arrests have been made, the Metropolitan Police said.

Police are appealing for witnesses and a post-mortem examination is due to be held later. The victim has yet to be formally identified.
