Two men sentenced for Leytonstone Christmas present theft

Two men who stole Christmas presents intended for a children's charity have been given suspended sentences.

Tony Parfett, of Plaistow, east London, was sentenced to four months in prison, suspended for two years, at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

Anthony Ross, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to four months, suspended for 18 months.

Parfett 43, and Ross, aged 20, were both charged with theft from a minibus in Leytonstone on Christmas Eve.

The gifts were later recovered and given to the children on Christmas Day.
