Man arrested over fatal Hackney flat explosion

A man has been arrested after a fatal explosion at a flat in east London.

One man was killed and two others were left with critical injuries in the blast at a five-storey block in Stamford Hill, Hackney, on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old man died in hospital that night. Two others, aged 28 and 29, suffered serious burns.

A 28-year-old man who was found injured at the flat has been arrested after being treated in hospital and discharged.

Det Insp Paul Ridley has appealed for information and witnesses who saw the explosion, or the immediate aftermath.
