Cyclist dies after collision with lorry in Croydon

A cyclist has died following a collision with a lorry at a junction in south London.

The collision happened at 13:39 BST between St James's Road and Lansdowne Road in Croydon.

The air ambulance attended but the 25-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The lorry driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and failing to stop, and is being held in police custody.

Police said the woman's next of kin had been informed, but they were awaiting formal identification.
