Stroud Green explosion victim, 56, dies from injuries
A man who was critically injured in a blast that injured five police officers at a house in north London has died.
Wilton Stirling, 56, was left with severe burns after he ignited "an accelerant" at the property in Stroud Green on 19 April, police believe.
Mr Stirling was taken to a specialist burns unit where he died on Sunday. Next of kin have been informed.
He had been involved in a housing dispute with bailiffs at the property on Stapleton Hall Road.
The basement and parts of the ground floor and shed in the back garden were on fire for several hours. No neighbouring houses were damaged.
Five officers were left with injuries ranging from burns to a broken wrist, the Met said.
Investigations are under way, but the force said it was not looking for anyone else in connection with the blast.
