Services on the Eccles tram line in Greater Manchester have resumed after a tram derailed.

The tram went onto the wrong tracks near Harbour City and crashed into a pole, damaging overhead cables after a points failure, on Tuesday night.

The entire line was closed overnight and early on Wednesday for repair work. It had reopened by 1000 BST.

Trams will be stopping at all stations except Media City, which needs further repairs.

A Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive spokesman said an investigation into the cause of the incident was being carried out.
