Officers investigating the murder of a man in a doctors' surgery car park in Oldham have been given more time to question five men.

Mohammed Junaid Khan, known as Junaid, was shot several times in Block Lane, Chadderton, in the early hours of 9 July 2009.

The 21-year-old, who had been visiting friends, was shot with an automatic weapon when he returned to his car.

Police have been granted a warrant of further detention for another 24 hours.

The men in custody are aged 22 to 28.

A 27-year-old woman, who was also arrested, has been bailed until 8 November.

Mr Khan, of Cotton Mill Crescent in Oldham, was described by his family as "a much-loved son" who was their "strength and support".
