Tribute to man struck by lorry on M66 near Bury

The family of a man who was hit and killed on the M66 in Greater Manchester have paid tribute to him.

Clint Brooks, 30, from Pleasant Street, Heywood, was struck by an HGV towing a tanker between junctions one and two near Bury at about 2015 BST.

He suffered multiple injuries and died at the scene. The lorry driver was treated in hospital for shock.

His family said: "Clint went through some very rough times, but he had turned his life around."

They added: "His mother, Sandra, is very proud of her son and he will be sadly missed.

"She will especially miss his lovely smile."

Mr Brooks was walking on the southbound carriageway when he was hit.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is urged to contact police.
