Charge over Bolton meat cleaver attack

A man has been charged after a 23-year-old woman was attacked with a meat cleaver in a Bolton street.

The 33-year-old from Bolton has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, attempted robbery and possessing an offensive weapon.

He is due to appear before Bolton Magistrates' Court later.

The woman, who had earlier parked near Aldi's Higher Bridge Street car park, required 20 stitches after the attack on Friday in Duke Street.
