Driver charged over double fatal M6 crash in Cheshire
A lorry driver has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after two men were killed in a crash on the M6 in Cheshire last year.
Philip Cawley, 39, of Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan, and Thomas Southward, 69, of Haydock, Merseyside, died in the crash on 9 September.
The men were changing a tyre on the hard shoulder of the M6 at Sandbach when they were struck by a HGV.
A 61-year-old man from Selby in North Yorkshire has now been charged.
Cheshire Police said he was due to appear before South Cheshire magistrates on 15 February.
