Barrister David Friesner faces two theft charges

A barrister has been accused of stealing £95,000 from his former chambers in Manchester.

David Friesner, 45, of Bury New Road, Prestwich, Greater Manchester, is due to appear before Leeds magistrates on 4 March, Greater Manchester Police said.

Mr Friesner faces two counts of theft following an investigation into alleged financial irregularities at St John Street Chambers, Manchester.

The investigation was carried out by the force's Economic Crime Section.
