Two police officers have denied unlawfully taking a suspect's car which later crashed in Greater Manchester.

Pc Mark Colebrook and Pc Stuart Foy had stopped the driver of the Mitsubishi Lancer in Hale Barns in September 2010.

The Greater Manchester Police officers were later found in the car after it overturned in a front garden.

Pc Colebrook, 29, from Widnes, and Pc Foy, 34, from Sale, both pleaded not guilty to aggravated vehicle taking at Rochdale Magistrates' Court.

Both were released on bail to appear at Manchester Crown Court on 10 May.

Pc Colebrook will face an additional charge of careless driving at the next court hearing.
