Bolton car crash kills mother driving daughter

A mother who was driving her seven-year-old daughter has died after a collision with another car in Bolton.

The 32-year-old suffered a head injury as a result of the collision between her car and another vehicle on Hall Lane, Farnworth, at 1740 GMT on Friday.

Her car left the road and hit a tree and she was pronounced dead in hospital a short time later. Her daughter was treated for minor injuries.

A man, 20, has been arrested over causing death by dangerous driving.

He has been bailed until 27 April.

Police are appealing for witnesses and would like to trace the rider of a scooter with a learner plate who was travelling in the direction of Farnworth at about the time of the collision.
