Bury cyclist hit by car in life-threatening condition

A 64-year-old cyclist has been left in a life-threatening condition following a collision with a car in Bury, Greater Manchester.

The cyclist suffered a head injury and was taken to Hope Hospital in Salford.

The crash took place on Wednesday at 0730 GMT on a roundabout at the junction of Market Street and Wellington Road.

Police have appealed for witnesses who "may not have realised the severity of the cyclist's injuries".
