A 72-year-old man has died after another car crashed into his broken-down car on a road in Manchester.

Police believe the black Volkswagen Polo Terrence Moore was driving had broken down under the Hulme Arch on Princess Road moments before the crash.

As he stood by his car, a gold Renault Clio struck his vehicle, causing it to crash into him.

He was taken to hospital after the incident on 4 April, but died from his injuries seven days later.

Mr Moore, from south Manchester, died at the Manchester Royal Infirmary on 11 April.

Speaking on behalf of his family, his son Ian Moore said: "Tragically taken from us in a road traffic incident, he was loved by all his children, brothers and relatives and will be sadly missed and forever in our thoughts."

Anyone with information about the crash, which happened at 1350 BST, is urged to contact police.
