Theft charges over FC Schalke kit in Worsley hotel

Three men have been charged in connection with reports that a training kit belonging to FC Schalke was taken from a Greater Manchester hotel.

The German team was staying at the Marriott Hotel, Worsley, after losing to Manchester United in the Champions' League semi-final on Wednesday.

It is understood a man dressed in an FC Schalke track suit greeted players and posed for photographs.

Three men are due to appear at Salford Magistrates' Court on 26 May.

One of the men, from Hull, was charged with theft, while the other two men from Manchester were charged with handling stolen goods.
