Salford paramedics 'save man stabbed in street'

A man was saved by paramedics after being found stabbed in a street in Salford, police have said.

The 44-year-old was found bleeding from what was described as a serious stab wound, on Ackworth Road, Swinton, on Thursday morning.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said three men were seen leaving the man's house shortly before he was found.

The victim is currently in hospital, where he is said to be in a stable condition.

Det Sgt Julie Connor said: "We are trying to build up a picture of what happened on that morning and I would urge anyone who may have been in the area or seen something suspicious to contact police.

"The victim suffered a serious stab wound and was saved only by the quick intervention of paramedics and medical staff."

Police said that after the attack the three men walked off down an alley, near to Ackworth Road, which leads towards Swinton High School.
