Two brothers have been charged after a star of Channel 4's My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding had his ear bitten in a Manchester car park.

Paddy Doherty, 52, of Salford was injured in an attack near PC World on Pill Mill Brow on Friday at 1620 BST.

The men aged 20 and 23 of Openshaw are charged with wounding without intent and are due to appear before Manchester City Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Police want to speak to a taxi driver who may have witnessed the attack.

The driver was in a white Skoda Octavia private hire vehicle.

Mr Doherty, a former boxer who starred in the show about Britain's travelling communities, was treated for his injuries at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
