Two brothers have been convicted of killing a care worker in Greater Manchester on New Year's Day.

Adam Steele, 23, was fatally injured in a fight at the junction of Lancaster Road and Orient Road, in Irlams O' Th' Height, Salford.

Owen Carl Roche, 22, of no fixed abode, was convicted of manslaughter at Manchester Crown Court on Monday.

His 17-year-old brother Direece Roche, of Stockport, had previously pleaded guilty to murder.

They, and a third man - Liam Appleton, 18, of West Gorton - who admitted affray, will be sentenced in August.

A post-mortem examination found that Mr Steele died from stab wounds.

He was described by his family as a "gentle and fun loving man".
