Salford burglar death: Two more charged over break-in

Two men have been charged after a break-in at a Salford house during which a burglar was stabbed to death.

John Bennell, 27, of Hyde, was stabbed in the chest at a house in Ethel Avenue, Pendlebury, on 22 June.

A 23-year-old man of Stretford, Greater Manchester was charged with aggravated burglary and was due before Salford magistrates on Thursday.

A 27-year-old man, of Eccles, is also charged with aggravated burglary and is due before magistrates on Friday.

A third man, 23, of Hyde, was previously charged with aggravated burglary and possession of a knife.

Three people were arrested on suspicion of murder over the death of Mr Bennell.

A 59-year-old man remains on bail until 25 July.

A man, 27, and 21-year-old woman were released without charge.
