A motorcyclist has died after he collided with a parked van in Bolton, Greater Manchester.

William Haywood, 47, of Hurst Avenue, Sale, was riding his Triumph bike along Salford Road, Over Hulton on Monday at about 1400 BST when it crashed.

He was treated at the scene by ambulance crews and taken to Royal Bolton Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the stationary Leyland DAF box van was uninjured.

William's mother and two sisters in a tribute said: "He was a very caring man, loved by everyone and happy-go-lucky.

"He did not have any enemies as he was too nice a guy and everyone loved him.

"He will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends who lived life to the full."
