Salford soldier shooting: three men arrested

Three men have been arrested by police investigating the shooting of a soldier in Salford.

Steven Higgins, 27, was shot twice near the Lord Nelson pub in Bolton Road, Pendlebury, on Saturday.

Greater Manchester Police said that three men aged 24, 25 and 31 have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Mr Higgins remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
