Father attacked in front of children in Bury

A man has been attacked by two men in front of his children in Greater Manchester.

The 32-year-old was walking in Parkhills Road, Bury with the children at 15:20 BST on Saturday when a black VW Golf pulled up alongside them.

He was hit over the head repeatedly before falling to the ground where he was punched and kicked.

The men, described as Asian, in their 20s and of medium build, drove off when people started shouting at them.

Det Insp John Mazzolai, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "This was a vicious assault on a man who was walking with five children, some of which were his.

"Not only has the victim been hurt but the children are very upset.

"I would like to reassure the community that we do not believe this is a random attack and I would urge witnesses to the incident to come forward and contact us."
