Boy, 15, killed in bicycle crash in Ellesmere Port

A 15-year-old cyclist was killed when he was knocked down by a lorry, Cheshire Police said.

The boy was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital following the accident at 14:40 BST on Tuesday on Princes Road, Ellesmere Port.

"Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he sadly died from his injuries at around 21:30 the same day," said a Cheshire Police spokesman.

The driver of the lorry, a 48-year-old man, from Birkenhead, was not injured.
