The parents of a boy who was killed in a crash while riding his bicycle in Cheshire have paid tribute to their "beautiful boy".

Connor Maddocks, 15, died when he was hit by a lorry in Princes Road, Ellesmere Port, on Tuesday afternoon.

He is survived by his mother and father, Tammy and Darren Maddocks, and siblings Tyler, Chloe and Ellie.

The 48-year-old driver of the lorry was not injured and was helping police with their inquiries, a spokeswoman said.

In a statement, the family said: "My beautiful boy Connor, just 15 years old, still such a baby when you got snatched from me in such a cruel way, you're my world.

"I love you and miss you angel. Sleep tight. We will see you soon, Mum, Dad and your brother and sisters Tyler, Chloe and Ellie."

Connor was struck by the lorry at about 14:20 BST on Tuesday.

He was taken by ambulance to the Countess of Chester Hospital but died shortly afterwards.

Cheshire Police has appealed to anyone with information to contact the force.
