Murder inquiry after body found in Oldham warehouse
The body of a 38-year-old man has been found in a derelict warehouse in Oldham, prompting a murder inquiry.
Police were called to the property in Partington Street at about 06:45 BST on Tuesday where they found Matthew Alexander Barrett.
Post-mortem tests found he had died from multiple injuries.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said Mr Barrett was believed to be homeless and had been living in the Oldham area.
Det Ch Insp Pete Jackson said: "The small disused warehouse where Matthew was found is believed to be somewhere he had been sleeping.
"We are asking for people that have any knowledge about what has happened to come forward and speak to us to help with our inquiries.
"It is not believed that Matthew had any relatives, but we are also appealing for anyone that may have known him to get in touch."
