Salford street party for first council homes in 25 years
A street party is being held for residents who have moved into the first council homes to be built in Salford for 25 years.
To mark the completion of the 101 new homes, families from the final street to move in have been invited to the party on Friday.
The homes are in Walkden, Weaste and Seedley, Little Hulton, Winton and Irwell Riverside.
They have been designed to save energy and reduce the city's carbon footprint.
Councillor Peter Connor, lead member for housing, said: "It's great to see this project finished and people living in their new homes.
"The street party is a great way for the community to get to know each other and celebrate the first council homes to be built in Salford for a quarter of a century."
