Teenager questioned over Gorton street stabbing

A teenager has been arrested after a 27-year-old man was stabbed in a Manchester street.

The victim was seriously injured during the incident in Garriott Way, Gorton, on 8 September, police said.

Detectives have questioned an 18-year-old man on suspicion on assault who was then released on bail.

Det Insp Terry Crompton, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "This was a serious incident which could have had fatal consequences."

He added that although a man had been arrested "we think there are still people we are yet to speak to who could hold vital clues to help us solve this".
