Salford riots: Police release fresh disorder images

Fresh riot images from Salford, including the looting of a Lidl supermarket and the torching of a BBC car, have been released by police.

The CCTV images show disorder on Heywood Way in Salford on 9 August.

The supermarket was set ablaze after the looting while the Radio Manchester car and a BBC reporter's vehicle were overturned and torched.

Greater Manchester Police wants to find those responsible for "such wanton violence", said Det Ch Insp Bob Tonge.

Police have arrested more than 300 people in connection with the rioting and disorder in Manchester and Salford in August.

Greater Manchester Police has been uploading pictures of suspected rioters to its Flickr site and has urged people to call its dedicated appeal line or Crimestoppers anonymously.
