Police issue picture of Rochdale bail absconder
Greater Manchester police have issued a picture of a Rochdale man who absconded while on police bail.
Muhammed Shahzad, of Jepheys Street, had been arrested in connection with an investigation into the sexual exploitation of children in the town.
The 39-year-old was arrested in April, but absconded while on bail in June.
Eleven other men have been charged in connection with the inquiry and are due to stand trial in February.
Det Insp Mike Sanderson, who is leading the investigation, said police had "released a photograph of Muhammed Shahzad in an effort to help trace him".
"He was arrested in connection with an extremely serious offence, so it is vitally important you call us if you know where Muhammed is," he said.
A GMP spokesman said a large number of inquiries had been followed up in the effort to find Mr Shahzad, but all leads had been exhausted.
He said it was thought Mr Shahzad "could now be in Rochdale, Oldham or elsewhere in the North West or even further afield".
