Wigan stabbing: Two men charged with attempted murder

Two men have been charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbed in the neck in Wigan.

Police said the men, aged 20 and 30 and from Atherton, are also charged with witness intimidation.

It comes after a man was stabbed on Devonshire Road at 01:55 BST on Tuesday. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

One of the men has also been charged with the robbery of a cemetery worker in Atherton.

The 73-year-old worker was robbed as he locked up the cemetery on Leigh Road, Atherton, on 30 September, police said.

Both men were remanded and are due to appear at Wigan Magistrates' Court later.
