Two charged over Bolton hit-and-run crash

Two men have been charged after a 14-year-old boy was injured in a hit-and-run crash in Bolton.

The schoolboy was knocked down by a car on Thicketford Brow just before 16:00 BST on 4 August.

The car was found abandoned nearby on Longsight Lane a short time later and had been set alight.

Police said two men, aged 20 and 24, had been charged with aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving and failing to stop at an accident.

Both were charged with making off without payment and the 24-year-old was also charged with burglary, arson, driving whilst disqualified and failing to report a road traffic accident.

They were bailed to appear at Bolton Magistrates Court on 29 November.

A 21-year-old man who was previously arrested will face no further action.

The boy was taken to hospital after the incident where he was treated for an injury to his knee and cuts and bruises.
